Hey, I’m Colton.
I work with creatives and store teams to execute brand vision and build visually compelling, profitable retail environments.
My Approach
Collaborative
The key to creating visually compelling stores rests on two core pillars: people and brand vision. Without brand vision, we lose direction. Without talented people, we can't bring that vision to life.
My approach has always been to work side-by-side with store leaders—recognizing that they are the experts within their four walls. I support them in problem-solving, developing a growth mindset, and building the confidence to overcome challenges and reach their goals.
Because the best solutions always come through collaboration.
Iterative
To ensure a store performs at its highest level—both visually and commercially—it’s essential to continuously iterate and refine ideas based on creative learnings. Once the team identifies effective strategies, these should be developed further to maximize impact.
How can this floorset improve? Does it fit our architechture? Are we highlighting our most important pieces? Is our customer responding to these fabrics? Does our first impression represent our best?
Retail changes fast and we must be proactive to get our customers attention.
Always be curious don’t forget too Iterate. Iterate. Iterate.
“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life”
Achievements: a few of my favorites
Flagship Reposition : Chicago State Street
Led a team of merchants in the successful closure and re-opening of the Chicago flagship store Men’s and Kid’s Divisions. The store consisted of 4 levels each the size of a full Old Navy store, 280,000 units and over 200 employees. The turnaround was one week to move the entire building from an old store concept to a brand new one. This included visuals, marketing, fixtureblock, signage, mannequin, etc.
Visual Sets: Mock Store
Collaborated on the development of the visual guides — store guides used by the entire fleet of 2000+ stores. After the buyers acquired the product, we were tasked in conceptualization and execution of these guides for the fleet. This included marketing, fixture blocking, and photographing, and distributing.
